TEEN SUMMER READING CLUB INFO:
Your Mission
1) Sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Club and pick up information in Youth Services starting June 1, 2007.
2) Read and review books.
3) Turn in book reviews to the staff at Youth Services or to the Review Box in Youth Services beginning June 7.
4) Turn in at least one completed review per week of the club for more chances at prizes. You may turn in more than one review each week. (You may submit via email to ljaberg[at]joliet.lib.il.us provided that if you win a prize you are able to get into the library to pick it up within a week.)

Prizes / Incentives: 1) After you turn in FOUR completed book reviews: Earn a book and a small prize.
2) If you turn in at least one completed book review each week for all seven weeks of the club: Earn a $5 gift card for a restaurant.
(These will be awarded after the Teen SRC is over or at the Teen Final Party.)
3)Drawings - Every week of the club (7 weeks), one review will be drawn each at both the Main library and Black Road locations.
The times of the drawings are as follows:
3:00 PM on Thursdays at Black Road Branch (3395 Black Road) - June 14, 21, 28, July 5, 12, 19, 26.
12:00 PM (Noon) on Fridays at the main library location (150 N. Ottawa) - June 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27.
One $15 Gift Card per library location per week will be awarded by drawing.
You will have one week to pick up your gift card after you are contacted via phone and/or email.
4) Final TEEN Party - Chance to win more prizes and giveaways! For dates and times, check out the Teen Events listed below.
Attend the party at the library location where you turned in your reviews. If unable to attend one, you may attend the other. Just let Leisl know ahead of time. If you attend this party, the better chance you have of winning prizes
including more gift cards and other intriguing items!
Hints for Mission Completion:
1) Check your reviews—Do you have your full name printed clearly?
Have you signed up in Youth Services?
2) Do everyone a favor and try to read books at or above your level. Try to read at least at a 5th grade level and higher. You are free to read and report on adult level books, too. (There are Hi-Lo books as well for teens that would be acceptable.)
3) Fiction, Nonfiction, and Graphic Novels are all acceptable.
4) If you have issues with writing neatly, you may type and print your reviews, and attach them to review forms.
OR you can submit them online. Ask the YA Librarian for more details.
5) To count for a given week, reviews must be turned in by the times stated on the prize incentive list. This goes for the online submissions, too!

This group meets regularly to watch and discuss anime, talk about manga,
play games like Naruto, and eat pocky. Maybe there will be a cosplay soon.
This club has been meeting during the school year.
New members are always welcome!!
